There is a clip that slides under the barrel where the square hole is . It holds six 22cal round caps and is slid in the front untill it stops and as you pull the triger it slides untill the last shot and it pushes the flap on the back down so you can remove the clip.

The model 1900 Brevettata was not a .22 firearm.
It was a .25 blank firing starter's pistol.
It fired 6mm "caps" fed on a sled.
If your gun looks like this:
then it is a blank firing starter's pistol and not a firearm.
If you don't have the "sled" that carried the caps into the gun, then the gun is essentially valueless.
Value: Probably around $25.

I have a starter pistol. It looks like it is missing pieces. I have no idea how to load it. Can you help?

I wouldn't be loading it if it looks likes it's missing pieces, this could be bad for your health. Take it to your local gun shop or gunsmith and have it checked out before attempting to load and fire it.

It sounds like it was mis-assembled. See if you can get the slide catch (lever on left side) removed. Once that is out the slide should be able it be pulled back. Then just assemble it correctly and it should be okay.
The above is how my auto's work, may be a little different with that little one....
Good Luck,

I can find no reference to Mondial Brevettata that does not refer to any thing but a starter pistol. Most were chambered for the 6mm European crimped blanks. Many of the barrels were indeed grooved but that certainly doesn't make them safe to <email> ammo in. It just means that the maker purchased barrels from a barrel Company. These are not semi auto. The full length travel of the trigger does all of the work. Under no circumstance should one of these "Blank Only" guns be altered to accept live ammo, or any type of projectile be placed in the chamber ahead of the blank charge.

you take out the silver rectangle and put the bullets in it if you have it, it is in the little flap under the barrel on the back.😊

21 years old in Texas for a Concealed Carry Permit (CHL).... However, I wouldn't be taking it out in public as this can get you hurt, especially in a gun store. Brandishing a firearm is a crime.

It's a tear gas pistol for self defense. My dad bought 2 for my sister-in-laws to carry in their purses while my brothers we're in Vietnam in 1968. I have them still with the tear gas cartridges, they we're sold through mail order & distributed here in Kansas City.

KC, do not attempt to fire it without proper servicing first. Take it to a gun smith and make sure it is safe to use. A hand, face or life is a terrible thing to waste. Also going into public with it is down right stupid. You pull that out & I wouldn't waste the time to check if it was a starter pistol, I'd drop you. Any gun is not a toy, it is a tool which if used properly is safe. If not it will hurt you.
You are right that it has "groves" but that is not the rifling in a hand gun or rifle. They are raised over 1/16th an inch & are straight which would not cause a bullet to spin as it leaves the gun. A real gun has groves not raised and spiral.

If you look down the barrel with a flashlight, you will see the groves do not spin...they are there for aesthetic purposes only, to make it look real. Additionally, you can slide an entire .22 cal bullet down the barrel from the muzzle. And, again with the flashlight, you will see there is no firing pin... nuff sed.

Underneath the barrel is a release pin and you pull it out and the barrel will open to the side. The release pin is also an ejector pin, push on it after it is open and it will cause the fired cartridges to fall out.
